Created in York by Rowntree’s, Yorkie® was inspired by York Chocolate, a bar from 1924. Fun fact: this original bar even made its way to the front lines of World War II, fuelling soldiers along the way.

Although York Chocolate was discontinued in 1966, it came back with a bang as the Yorkie® chocolate bar we know today. With a nod to its roots, the Yorkie® bar was big, bold, and chunky with a cheeky personality. Shortly after its launch, Yorkie® was ranked among the top confectionery brands in the UK and is still a crowd favourite today. It's known for delivering a straightforward, satisfying taste in every bite.

Over the years, we’ve expanded the Yorkie® range with flavours like orange, raisin & biscuit, and many others. Each variant stays true to Yorkie®’s no-nonsense approach with no skimping on chocolate taste and thickness. We’ve also made big strides in how each bar is produced. We only use 100% sustainably sourced cocoa and milk through our various initiatives. It’s all part of our mission to make products that taste good and have a positive impact.
